Ingredients
For the Pulled Pork:
3–4 lb boneless pork shoulder (also called pork butt)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
½ cup chicken broth or water
1 onion, sliced
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp chili powder (optional for heat)
For the Sliders:
12 slider buns (brioche or Hawaiian rolls work great)
½ cup extra BBQ sauce (for topping)
1 cup coleslaw (store-bought or homemade—see variation below)
Pickles (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions
Prepare the Pork
Rub pork with olive oil and spices. Place sliced onion at the bottom of your slow cooker (or Dutch oven), then add pork, broth, and BBQ sauce.
Cook
Slow Cooker: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4–5 hours, until pork is fall-apart tender.
Oven: Cover and cook in a Dutch oven at 325°F for 3–3½ hours.
Shred
Remove pork, shred it using two forks, and discard any large fatty pieces. Return meat to the pot and stir into the juices. Add more BBQ sauce as desired.
Assemble Sliders
Toast buns if you like. Pile pulled pork onto each bun, top with a scoop of coleslaw and pickles, then sandwich with the top bun.
Tips and Tricks
Trim off the excess fat before you start cooking
Do not skip rest time and shred time – as this will allow the pork to soak all the flavor up.
Toast the buns so that they will hold the filling better and be less soggy.

FAQs
Q: Can I make this ahead of time?
A: Yes, pulled pork stores really well in the fridge – can be up to 4 days or even frozen! Reheat with a splash of bone broth or bbq sauce.
Q: What’s the best cut of meat to use?
A: Boneless pork shoulder works best because it becomes super tender and will shred really easily after it’s been cooked for a long time.
